How it works
This word unscrambler treats your letters as a pool and checks a common-English word list for every word that can be spelled using each letter at most as many times as you provided it — so one 'e' allows 'read' but not 'eerie'. Results are grouped by length, longest first, since longer words are usually the answer you're actually looking for in a puzzle or word game.

- Getting unstuck in Scrabble or Words with Friends: checking a rack of letters for the longest playable word after you've already tried and failed to spot it yourself.
- Solving a daily jumble or word puzzle: entering scrambled letters from a newspaper or app puzzle to find the intended answer, or every valid word hiding in it.

How does a word unscrambler work?
It compares your letters against a word list, keeping words whose letters are all available in your pool (respecting duplicates). Results are sorted longest-first.
Can letters be reused in a word?
Only as many times as you entered them. With one 'e' you can make 'read' but not 'eerie' — matching how tile-based word games work.
Why isn't a word I know showing up?
The tool uses a common-words dictionary (~2,700 entries) to keep results recognizable. Rare or highly technical words may be absent even if valid in game dictionaries.
What's the best strategy for scrambled letters?
Look for common endings (-ed, -er, -ing, -s) and prefixes (re-, un-), set those aside mentally, and unscramble the remainder. Or paste the letters here and skip to the answers.
