Mirror Text Generator: Flipping Text Left-to-Right, Not Upside Down
Mirror text flips each letter into its horizontal mirror image and reverses the word order, so the result reads correctly when held up to an actual mirror — different from upside down text, which rotates letters 180° instead. Three transformations, easily confused
Reversed text only reverses the order of characters — "hello" becomes "olleh" — without touching the shape of any letter. Upside down text rotates each letter 180° and reverses the order, so it reads correctly when the whole thing is turned upside down. Mirrored text flips each letter horizontally (left-right) and reverses the order, so it reads correctly when held up to a vertical mirror or seen through glass from the other side.
The visual difference is easy to miss at a glance, but the underlying Unicode characters are different for each — a generator has to pick genuinely different lookalike glyphs depending on which of the three effects you're after.
Where mirroring specifically is the right tool
Print and craft work is the main real use case: T-shirt heat-transfer designs, iron-on decals, and glass or window etching all need mirrored text, because the design gets applied to the back of the material or viewed through it, and the mirroring cancels out on the finished piece. Cutting a stencil that will be flipped during application is the same situation.
Outside of physical production, mirrored text shows up the same way upside down text does — as a way to make a social caption or bio stand out from a feed of normal text — though for that purely decorative use, the choice between mirrored and upside down mostly comes down to which one looks better for the specific word.
